In memory of

Cesidia "Jessie" Carbone

January 25, 1938 -  December 18, 2020

Cesidia “Jessie” Carbone (nee Mascioli), age 82, passed away peacefully listening to the music of her faith with a family member by her side, on December 18, 2020.
Cesidia was born on January 25, 1938 in Cocullo, Italy to Giuseppe and Anna Mascioli (nee Panecaldo). Loving and devoted wife of Nicola Nando for 64 years. Wonderful mother to Lucy (Donald), John (Sherry-Lynn), Antonietta (Mark), Nick (Amy), and Dave (Diane), cherished Grandmother to Alex (Nicole), Jordan (Haley), Jaclyn, Mitchell, Elizabeth, Sophia, Cameron, Nicole and Hilary as well dear Great-Grandmother to Alex and Aaron.

Cesidia’s kind soul, and love for her family and God were her legacy. She proudly valued her Italian heritage and community which she shared with family, and also embraced her new Canadian way of life. After raising her family, Cesidia enjoyed various part-time jobs, and cherished the many friends she made with colleagues, and customers. Her favourite past-times were gardening, birds, yoga and cooking for the family. Mom enjoyed her time with friends and neighbours and her volunteer work with the M.S. Society. She appreciated many years of fellowship with the J.A.M. seniors social group of St. Jerome’s parish.

After years of serving others, Cesidia began a rapidly declining journey of dementia. She eventually needed to move into long term care at Faith Manor, Holland Christian Home. Our family wishes to thank the many staff, nurses, PSWs, and many volunteers from the Towers for providing the loving care mom received for the past 3 years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Peel Alzheimer’s Society or the MS Society, is appreciated.
A private family service and interment will take place Monday, December, 28th at 11:00am.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The older I get the more I realize how one of a kind my grandmother was. I will forever cherish the memories we shared together, and am committed to continuing her legacy of treating everyone with kindness, loving big & always be on the path of self-improvement. I am so grateful to have been helped raised by such a beautiful soul, and I feel so honored that I am a product of one of the greatest love stories between Grandma & Grandpa.

Though Grandma is no longer physically with us, I find solace that she is resting peacefully. I look forward to feeling her presence and will live each day to make her proud as she watches over us.

This quote from Grandma brings me comfort:

“ My wish is that after I die remember that my love for you all is not dead but it will always be with you for generations to come. I love you all God loves you the only thing I ask of you is that you all love each other. I love you more today than yesterday I will love you more tomorrow than today.

God be with you all.”

Until we meet again Grandma.
