In memory of

Cecilia Estanislao

August 8, 1954 -  April 17, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Cecilia Puno Estanislao, who left this world peacefully on April 17, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her home after a courageous battle with terminal cancer. She was 70 years old.

Born on August 8, 1954, in Manila, Philippines, Cecilia lived a life filled with grace, compassion, and unwavering strength. She devoted her life to caring for others, beginning her career as a young nurse in the Philippines and Saudi Arabia before permanently immigrating to Canada. In her later years, she worked as a personal support worker, a role she carried out with genuine love and care. Her patients and their families were deeply touched by her warmth, dedication, and the heartfelt connections she formed.

Cecilia was the heart of her home—kindhearted, selfless, strong-willed, and devoted to her faith in God. She found joy in the simple things: Saturday morning garage sale adventures, afternoon strolls through the neighborhood, tending to her garden, decorating her home with every new season, and pampering herself with a fresh manicure. She had a true gift for cooking and baking, often filling her home with the comforting aroma of her delicious creations. But above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her family—especially her cherished grandchildren, whose presence lit up her world.

She is survived by her loving husband, Alfredo Estanislao; her two devoted daughters, Melody and Freddielyn; her son-in-law, Kyle; and her beloved grandchildren, Maverick, Gabriella, and Hendrix. Cecilia was the seventh of twelve siblings born to Marta and Catalino Puno Sr.

Cecilia believed in living with purpose and intention. She often reminded those around her that self-love and respect are the foundations of a healthy life. Her words of wisdom—“Follow your dreams, work hard, stay focused, persevere, and enjoy the fruits of your labor”—will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her.

Our most treasured memories with Mom include family vacations, camping trips, and spontaneous day trips outside the city. But it’s the quiet, tender moments—her joyful laughter with the grandchildren, her comforting presence, her unconditional love—that we’ll hold closest to our hearts.

Cecilia Puno Estanislao was a beautiful light in the lives of so many. Though she is no longer physically with us, her spirit, her love, and her strength will remain with us forever.

Today is heavy. Losing Auntie Cely hurts in ways words can’t fully explain. She was like a mother to me—she was a presence, a comfort, a light. It’s okay to feel broken, to cry, to not have all the words right now. Grief is love with nowhere to go, and you loved her deeply.

Hold on to the memories—the laughter, the advice, the little things she did that made you feel seen. Let yourself feel this. It’s not weakness. It’s love.

You’ll carry her with you always.

With love,
Gigi Cruz

I met Cecilia the first time when she was visiting us in Germany together with her sisters Lourdes, my aunt Marietta and my uncle Albert. She was such a heartwarming person, open for new experiences and for fun. After her visit in Germany she always welcomed me at her home when I was in Canada and I felt like staying with my family. Thanks Cecilia for the nice memories that I have with you. I pray for you and will never forget you. Rest in peace. ✝️🙏🌹
