In memory of

Catherine Thompson

December 18, 1939 -  December 27, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Catherine Thompson, on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the age of 84. She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her loving husband Richard Thompson. Mother of Michelle Twining (Dean), Nichole Cole (Peter), and John Twining. Stepmother and friend of Susan Thompson (Ken) and Joanne Thompson (Ross). Loving grandmother to Ben Cole (Meghan), Sean Cole, Sam Cole (Christina), Jack Cole (Caleigh), Jerry Cole (Julia), Caryn Stephens (Daniel), Sacha Morazain (Alexandra), Mathew Morazain (Amanda), and Patrick Gardiner (Mesha). Great grandmother to 14.

Born in Birmingham England in 1939 during World War II, Catherine was a survivor. She was a strong and beautiful woman who loved and cherished her family and friends.
She was a trailblazer for women in the Insurance Industry becoming extremely well known and loved by both colleagues and clients. She took pride in her accomplishments and was dedicated to her clients throughout the years. Right up until her reluctant retirement this past summer 2023.
Mom was an animal lover through and through. In lieu of flowers, donations to the 2 charities she held close would be appreciated. The Oakville Humane Society and the World Wildlife Fund Canada.

Thanks to the oncology department at the Credit Valley Hospital especially Dr. Chan and Nurse Michelle Hagle. Also to her palliative care team, Dr. Harild and Acclaim Health who went above and beyond with mom's care.
Funeral services will be held at the Simple Alternative, 1535 South Gateway Road, Mississauga Ontario. Visitation at 10am, funeral service at 11am and reception to follow.

Masks will available should you wish to wear one.

We will miss our very dear friend Catherine. We shared many stories about life in the U.K., our children and of course cats.

We enjoyed our regular get together sharing good wine, cheese and valued friendship.

Rest in peace dear Catherine.

So saddened to hear of the loss if Catherine, I always knew her as Rena, when we were young with young children, we spent lots of time together driving around with five kids in a Volkswagen, we had lots of laughs.
Sorry we never got together my friend, since we lived so far apart and I don’t drive.
God Bless You, R.I.P.
Always in my thoughts Betty.

Rina, my dear friend, I was 22 when I first met you at my wedding so many years ago. Throughout the years, you and Dick, were great friends and we loved being with you both in Toronto as well as some of the trips to Paradise Island. Those were great fun times. Now that you are gone, I am sure that Dick is waiting for you with open arms and a heart full love to be together for eternity. I will miss you terribly.

Rest in Peace my dear friend. Love always Marie Leonard πŸ™πŸ’•πŸŒΉ
