I have never, ever, had someone welcome me into their life and family with such open armed enthusiasm as Caroll did. She included us in holidays when we couldn't be with our family, invited us to family functions and reunion, and always, always, always treated us like her own. When we were feeling down or bad about lifes circumstances, she was right there with a firm, loving and reassuring pep talk. When I married my husband Rainer, her son's long time ‘best’ friend, she made sure to officially welcome me into her family and tell me that she was glad to have another daughter. I am pretty sure the day we told her about our son coming home, she was just as pleased to have 'another grandson'. We will miss you Caroll, very much. May you find peace on the other side.
