In memory of

Carol Brayshaw

April 19, 1942 -  February 10, 2019

CAROL ROSEMARY BRAYSHAW (nee St.Omer; previously Inglis), passed away at home on February 10, 2019. "Braysh", as she was affectionately known, was 76 years old.

Born in Castries, St. Lucia on April 19, 1942, Carol was the 4th of nine children born to Iris & Rodney St. Omer (both deceased).

She is survived by her three children: Val Ford (husband Stan); Karen Brayshaw-Marshall (husband Sean); and Darin Inglis, all of Toronto. Carol leaves behind her grandchildren: Jordan & Shane Marshall, and Courtney Sun. Also left to mourn her death are her siblings: Vera, Lena, Mathurin, Jermaine, Gene, Una and Gregory; and many nieces, nephews and cousins including: Veda & Vesta, Danny & Nicky, Janelle, Trona & Gelam, A.J., Clarette and Beverley.

In her younger days, Carol loved entertaining and "liming" with her friends. She was the life of the party, with her quick and often irreverent wit. Carol was also very smart, hard-working and did wonders with a budget. Her past occupations included Mental Health Nurse, Reservations and Hotel manager, and Executive Assistant. Carol strived to give her children an easier life than she had, but always showed appreciation for the lessons she learned from her own childhood.

In her later years, though she dealt with ongoing health issues, Carol loved hearing from her friends; reading the gossip magazines; eating hickory sticks, pralines & cream ice-cream, and KFC in front of the TV; and watching sitcoms like All in the Family. Further, no one could tell her that the Enquirer and WWE wrestling were not "real". She also loved dogs, and had to be convinced that owning 5 dogs in St. Lucia was not the same as owning/walking/feeding one dog in Canada! Carol will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at the Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 1535 South Gateway Road (at Dixie Road), Mississauga. A short service will follow.

The family will share details of a Celebration of Life for Carol at a later date. In the meantime, we invite you to sign the online GUESTBOOK, add a personal STORY and if you desire, click the DONATIONS tab to make a contribution in lieu of flowers.

Loved and admired you so much growing up. As an only child, I enjoyed spending time with Val, Karen & Darrin. You always welcomed me and treated me as your own.

Always loved the lovely clothes you sent me when you lived in St. Croix and I will always remember that you made me the envy of the CDC when you brought me that brand new "footsie." Everybody else had homemade ones....RIPP Aunty Carol....fly with the Angels...and say hello to my mom & dad....

Loved Carol's excitement about life. Always had an "old joke" and we had so much fun especially during her days in SKB.

Feel so guilty that I did not keep in touch as I should have. Rest well my friend and say hi to Rodney and the "Fairy" for me.
