In memory of

Carlos Nakhle

August 25, 1969 -  October 13, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Carlos Nakhle on October 13, 2024 at the age of 55 years. Loving husband and best friend of Susan for more than 27 years. Adored father of Christopher and Elisa. Cherished son of Elias and Souad, son-in-law of Felicia and the late Lorenzo Bortot. Beloved brother of Edy and Carine, brother-in-law, Charbel, sister-in-law Evelyn and proud uncle of Stephan. He will also be missed by many extended family members, friends, and colleagues.

Carlos was born in Lebanon on August 25, 1969. At the age of 20, he immigrated to Canada. Without knowing the language, he worked tirelessly to sponsor and support his family driven by a commitment to keep his loved ones safe. In 1995, he met Susan and they were married 2 years later. Together, they raised two beautiful children.

Carlos truly loved and cherished his family. Some of his favourite family moments included gatherings at his parents’ house, trips to PEI, fishing with his son and cheering for his daughter and her team at the hockey rink.

He had an incredible sense of humour with no shortage of Dad jokes. Carlos loved new challenges and was a life-long learner. He did not hesitate to share his knowledge on a range of topics from world issues, to cars, hockey and important life lessons. He also had a passion for gardening and was proud of his vegetable garden and 22 varieties of tomatoes.

He always said “when it’s your time, it’s your time.”

With his “larger than life” personality and generous spirit, Carlos was a positive force. He touched the lives of many and will always be remembered for his kindness, sense of loyalty and big heart.

Visitation will be held at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on Sunday October 20, 2024 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm and on Monday October 21 from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service in the chapel at 11:00 am. Interment will follow. Donations will be gratefully accepted for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
