It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce Roberts, devoted husband of sixty-two years to Donna, loving dad of daughter Karen, caring father-in-law to Erik Gordon, proud papa of Noah and Isaac, brother and brother-in-law to Winston & Sharon
Roberts and Uncle Bruce to his nieces and nephews. Bruce is predeceased by his parents Albert and May Roberts, as well as by his brother and sister-in-law Wilfred and Edith Roberts and by his brother and sister-in-law Eric and Marilyn Roberts.
Bruce was born in Weston, Ontario and worked and lived in Toronto his whole life. He spent thirty years working for the City of Toronto in traffic engineering at City Hall; a job he enjoyed. Bruce was a self-taught handy person who enjoyed finding creative solutions to any mechanical or structural issue that he encountered. He could problem solve and fix anything.
Bruce loved travelling and enjoyed trips with Donna to England and Germany. He also travelled to Bangalore, India on a mission trip. A trip that impacted him very much. Bruce was so proud of his grandsons and enjoyed watching them at track meets or listening to them play music. He loved them immensely.
Bruce accepted Jesus as his Lord and Saviour when he was a young boy. His faith in God was central in his life. Even in his last days, he asked Donna to listen while he quoted his favourite psalm, Psalm 91. Bruce was generous and always ready to help anyone in need. He had a good heart and a warm smile. Bruce will be missed by his family, but they know that his absence from them means that he is now present with The Lord.
Donations can be made to Shepherd Village, where Bruce received great care in his last few months. Donation can also be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
