In memory of

Bruce Owen Beatty

November 6, 1939 -  January 15, 2021

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Bruce Owen Beatty on January 15, 2021 at the Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill, Ontario with his family at his side. Beloved husband of Lorna, cherished father of daughter Sara Kristine and son Travis Owen (Jackie) and his adored and only grandson Rowan. He is lovingly remembered by his many sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews (in law) in the GTA and USA. Bruce was predeceased by his only brother, Ross Beatty in Kelowna, B.C.

Bruce was born in Toronto where he lived for most of his life until his passing. An artist, he enjoyed painting and listening to music, his favourite being Jazz and Blues, and of course the Oldies. Above all, Bruce loved to be surrounded by his family and telling stories from the “good old times”. His children were the bright beacon of his life. Sadly, he was not ready to depart this life as he looked forward to many more years of enjoying life with his family and seeing his grandson grow up.

His last days were made more bearable and comfortable by the warm and caring staff at the Hill House until he succumbed to the complications of his cancer. Here, the family was able to spend the last few days of his life with him which otherwise would not have been possible.

We would like to extend our deepest thanks and appreciation to all the staff at Hill House for their kind-hearted and attentive care of Bruce.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Hill House. Donations can be made by following the link below.

I will miss you Uncle. I will forever remember you as the "funny big man". I have many fond memories of family gatherings at the Pickering home (Loved that house). Lots of laughter, lots and lots of great food. Always a great time. Thank you all for that.
