In memory of

Bruce Neil Godard

October 25, 1945 -  March 1, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Grampy, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. Bruce leaves us all with many cherished memories, but most of all his 'love.'
He embraced his 40-year profession as a Toronto Firefighter (#199), which included his service at Fire Station #24, built in 1911, later renumbered as Fire Station 311. There he served as 'Captain Godard' (041680 Aerial A1 Shift) and was eventually referred to as 'Senior Captain', where he contentedly remained until his retirement.
In 1980, he left the Scarborough area and settled down roots in the town of Stouffville, alongside his loving wife Wendy. Above all, Bruce was a family man. He so loved raising his three sons, Ryan, Danny, and Brandon in the small-town atmosphere. He grew so very proud of the men they became.
His passion included hunting at Silver Birch Hunt Camp, located in the Bancroft area, which he tremendously enjoyed from early childhood. This tradition still continues with his boys. He also enjoyed many happy times spent at the family cottage on Kashagawigamog Lake in Haliburton. Bruce was an avid fisherman and embraced any activity that involved a chainsaw and wood.
He never let his declining health interfere with the activities he most enjoyed, until it became medically necessary.
Bruce adored his six grandchildren, watching them grow and thrive. He will be their guiding light from above.
He looked forward to frequent visits from his boys, friends (Roger), and neighbours, for they brightened his days.
We were very blessed to share our lives with this incredibly strong and courageous man. We will love him, miss him, and remember him all of the days of our lives.
- Your loving Family xo

A private celebration of life will take place at a later date, to be announced.
