In Loving Memory
Bruce Doo Yuen Ing
February 4, 1968 – July 10, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Bruce (Doo Yuen) Ing announces his passing in hospital on Friday, July 10, 2020. Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his son Alex, his parents Siu Pan and Ming How Ing, his sisters Joyce and Cathy and brother Teddy, his niece Stephanie and nephews Benjamin and Noah and his brother in law Bill. Bruce will also be forever remembered by his extended family and dear friends.
Bruce was born on February 4, 1968 in Toronto, Ontario. He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1994.
His love of computers took him on a different career path from Engineering. He became a Computer Technician for a well-known big box retailer chain, but later branched out and started his own Computer Business - PC Ing. This was the perfect avenue for Bruce, since he was truly a computer wizard and loved dealing with people – he could talk your ear off forever! His numerous clients were not just customers, they all became his lifelong friends.
Bruce was fun-natured and kind-hearted and would always put others before himself. He loved spending time with his family and especially loved spending time with his son Alex. Bruce and Alex often took road trips together and went camping and hiking.
Bruce was deeply committed to his community. He became an advocate for the Toronto High Park Zoo and petitioned to have the full operating costs of the Zoo reinstated in the wake of budget cuts that threatened to close the Zoo. He volunteered at the zoo and spent a lot of time there with Alex. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, Bruce’s family would appreciate donations be made online at GoFundMe https://gf.me/u/ygwwb2 to help with funeral expenses and support his son Alex.

Bruce always had a smile on his face and was full of great ideas of how we could raise money and awareness for High Park Zoo. He jumped in with both feet, often pulling Alex with him, to organize and help at events. He will be truly missed by all who met him at the Zoo not just the Board, other volunteers, the Zoo Keepers but all the visitors who got to know him. His spirit will live on at the zoo.

Will be sadly missed, I enjoyed Bruce's sense of humour and spent many happy hours with him when he joined our volunteer group to "Save The Zoo", his collecting of the signatures was phenomenal...my daughter Fehlicity also attended Humberside with Bruce and he is on my wall still in the Graduation Class Picure of 1988. We last spent a happy time together with Bruce and Alex at my 80th birthday event last October at the Grenadier. Truly Alex will grow up with loving and lasting memories of his great Dad, and we wish him all that is good and great for his future.

TO dear Alex and to all the family of Bruce....
We have been so privileged to be friends of Bruce for almost 20 years and so sorry to hear that he has left us, much too soon and much too suddenly. We send you our most sincere condolences and wishes.

My deepest sympathies to family and friends of Bruce. I didn't really know Bruce as he was 3 grades lower than me at Humberside, except I saw him around the music rooms. But I felt I had to leave a message here.

Peace.

I knew Bruce through volunteering at the High Park Zoo. He exuded enthusiasm and worked very hard to save the zoo from being closed. He always had a smile on his face and was uplifting to have around. It is with sadness that I learned of his passing, all too soon. We will all miss him very much. Especially the llamas.
