Bruce Doo Yuen Ing
February 4, 1968 – July 10, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Bruce (Doo Yuen) Ing announces his passing in hospital on Friday, July 10, 2020. Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his son Alex, his parents Siu Pan and Ming How Ing, his sisters Joyce and Cathy and brother Teddy, his niece Stephanie and nephews Benjamin and Noah and his brother in law Bill. Bruce will also be forever remembered by his extended family and dear friends.
Bruce was born on February 4, 1968 in Toronto, Ontario. He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1994.
His love of computers took him on a different career path from Engineering. He became a Computer Technician for a well-known big box retailer chain, but later branched out and started his own Computer Business - PC Ing. This was the perfect avenue for Bruce, since he was truly a computer wizard and loved dealing with people – he could talk your ear off forever! His numerous clients were not just customers, they all became his lifelong friends.
Bruce was fun-natured and kind-hearted and would always put others before himself. He loved spending time with his family and especially loved spending time with his son Alex. Bruce and Alex often took road trips together and went camping and hiking.
Bruce was deeply committed to his community. He became an advocate for the Toronto High Park Zoo and petitioned to have the full operating costs of the Zoo reinstated in the wake of budget cuts that threatened to close the Zoo. He volunteered at the zoo and spent a lot of time there with Alex.
