In memory of
Bruce Allan Rayner
April 4, 1934 -
July 26, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce on July 26, 2023 at the age of 89. After being in hospital for months, and diagnosed with advanced dementia, Bruce passed away peacefully at North York General Hospital. Predeceased only two months before by his loving wife Margaret, married for 63 years. Adored by his dear children Alan (Elke) and Brian (Anna). An incredibly proud Grandpa to Allison, his only granddaughter.
Predeceased by both his parents Clifford and Alice, sisters June and Norma (his twin), and brother Ron, he now becomes reunited. Bruce leaves behind his older brother Don, who will deeply miss him. He will forever be held dear in the hearts of his family, relatives, and many close friends.
Bruce was a man with the biggest heart and the most infectious smile, a man who truly loved his family. A quiet and private individual, he was nonetheless regarded by his family as being humorous, always making everyone around him laugh. Bruce found joy in the outdoors, hunting was his passion, and expressed his interest to everyone around him. Fishing was another passion he found in the outdoors, putting the biggest smile on his face whenever catching a fish. When he wasn’t enjoying the outdoors, Bruce loved staying indoors relaxing while watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays.
Bruce worked incredibly hard his entire life, he devoted himself to working as a plumber his entire life until retirement. He could do just about anything when it came to working on the house, fixing anything and everything. Bruce always had an ongoing project happening, and found happiness in doing so.
Tying into his love for the outdoors, every summer Bruce spent most his time at his cottage in Huntsville with his wife. When he wasn’t at his cottage, he found joy in travelling with his wife. They both shared a passion for travelling, and were able to travel the world together. They went everywhere together, not even death could keep them apart.
You will forever be missed, and eternally loved.
May he Rest in Peace.
“Those we love never truly leave us. There are things that death cannot touch.”
