In memory of

Brian Watters

October 10, 1940 -  November 27, 2023

WATTERS, Brian Albert
Born October 10, 1940 – passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Ajax on November 27, 2023 surrounded by family. Predeceased by his father and mother, Albert Watters and Mary Watters. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Jane, and their children, Glenn (Joanne); Catherine (Bill), and Jennifer. Beloved Grandfather of eight - Rachael, Sarah, Brian, Matthew, Lauren, Hayden, Branden and Joshua. Brother of Jacqueline and uncle to many. A retired Captain of the Toronto Fire Department, Brian was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan. He loved nothing more than attending the various sporting activities of his grandchildren – whether that be hockey, baseball or ringette. He was also a 10 pin bowler and ran the East Guildwood Mixed Bowling League for 35 years. Brian was a golfer and enjoyed playing with his son and his grandsons every chance he got – particularly in Hilton Head Island. Brian was a five time cancer survivor and over the years, he managed to beat them all. Special thanks are extended to the Palliative Care team at Lakeridge Health Ajax for their compassionate care and guidance. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

We joined the East Guildwood Mixed Bowling League many years ago, Brian was the main guy, keeping all the “stats” and organizing the league, not just bowling, but the after bowling fun. We soon realized we weren’t just there to bowl….we had joined a “family” of long lasting friends. We had our weekly bowl, with dinner after, banquets in Niagara Falls, New Year’s Eve celebrations, summer parties at Jane and Brian’s place. Fun hook-ups in Myrtle Beach, for golf and good times.• R.I.P. El Presidente.

I lived at 115 Langley Avenue, across the street from Brian in 1950. I was a year younger than Brian and attended his 10th birthday party that year. Didn't see him all those years except for a 2007 school reunion when he attended with his sister Jacqueline.

A good man, who will be missed.
