Brian George McBride

August 6, 1961 -  October 20, 2020

Brian surrounded by family lost his fight with cancer. Brian is pre-deceased by his parents George and Nellie McBride and Father-in-law Ken Sparling, survived by his wife Mary Pat and daughter Micaela, his Mother-in-law Pat Sparling, sister -in-law Terri (Steve) Mauthe, Niece Stephanie (Joe) Falconi, Nephew Mike (Mindy) Mauthe , great nieces Rya, Kenna ,Maddie and great nephew Jake
Sister Debbie (Paul) Page and nieces Taylor and Bridget. As well as his Aunt Helen (Ted) Richards, cousins John and Edward from California and family in Kingston, Sarnia, Niagara Falls and Mississauga.

Brian was a referee with the MHL for 31 years and worked for the City of Mississauga for 26 yrs., retiring to golf and travel. He loved all the Disney Cruises, golf trips with his golf buddies and to be with the Family for get togethers. Mary Pat and Brian were happily married for 28 years. The highlight of their life together was travelling to China to bring their little “China Doll” home. As Brian said, “I do not regret anything I did during my life and now I will be the guardian angel of my family”.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Meadowvale Funeral Centre, 7732 Mavis Road, Brampton on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. and 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Due to current restrictions, attendance is by invitation.

A private Family interment will be held at a later time.

Thank you to Dr. Strevel and Dr Kuhlmann and all the staff of the Trillium Health Partners/ Credit Valley Oncology Department and Mississauga Halton LHIN for all their help that Brian received

In Lieu of Flowers, donations to Credit Valley Cancer Department, Canadian Heart and Stroke foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Brian was an excellent MHL Referee...not only on the ice but off of it as well. Well respected by all and I am honoured to call him a friend....He will be greatly missed.

I am so sad to hear of Brian’s passing. He was such a wonderful man and I enjoyed working with him for many years. He always had a smile on his face and always asking how he could help. My heart goes out to Mary Pat and the entire family..such a terrible loss for you all.
