August 7, 1936 -  May 9, 2019

Husband to Huan You Liu. Father to son, Guanyang, and daughters, Liyun, Xiaoyun (Ruby), and Qiyun (Kate). Grandfather to grandson, Terence, and granddaughters, Yim Peng (Samantha), Jessica, Florence, Nicole, and Mira.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests you consider donating to organizations that assisted Bolun immensely: the Infinity Light Amitabha Organization of Canada ("ILAOC", website: www.infamtb.org) and the Scarborough Hospital Foundation, Birchmount Site, in memory of Bolun Li. If donating to the ILAOC, you may do so by sending a cheque to: ILAOC, 202-1020 Denison St., Markham, Ont., L3R 3W5. ILAOC is a benevolent volunteer organization, teaching spiritual enlightenment and providing comfort to those in need. Because it is not a registered charitable organization, no tax receipt can be issued. Thank you.

Frank Wong (Son-in-law)

I recall Dad as being a simple and very down to earth man.

He enjoyed simple meals, especially Chinese style roasted duck and roasted pork, fish, and avoided fruits and vegetables. During family meals, he had a habit of picking a piece of meat with his chopstick and giving it to the person sitting near him. Most recipients would object to his "generosity", especially after he had started eating with his chopsticks already and Mom would chide him for his action. What was I, a good son-in-law, to do when I was the recipient but to pull my bowl away from his reach to avoid additional offerings and eat what he gave me.

I also recall him offering me his "shirt of his back". Actually, it was unworn clothing he had saved (for whatever reason). I declining his gifts, giving the excuse they were the wrong size. His fashion style just didn't suit me.

These are my recollections of how he was so devoted to his family and was a selfless person. He will be missed. May he be received by Amitabha and have eternal happiness.
