In memory of

Bob Chong

April 8, 1960 -  October 17, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that the Chong family announces the unexpected passing of Bob Chong (April 8, 1960- October 17, 2020, aged 60 years). He will be forever remembered by his siblings George Chong, Michael Chong, Susan Benson (née Chong), brother-in-law, nephew, niece, uncle and numerous cousins and dear friends. He is predeceased by parents Yip Chong and Joe Chong.

Bob will always be remembered for his gentle giant nature, warm heart and love for cooking. Family gatherings will never be the same without feasting on his lovingly prepared dishes, hearing his sage advice on world events or his thoughts on the latest shows and movies. Whenever there was an IT or computer issue, you were confident that it can be resolved if Bob was on the case. Through perseverance and hard work over the past 20 years, Bob has built a successful machining manufacturer company with his closet friend and business partner.

Visitation will be held at Pine Hills Funeral Center on Saturday, October 24th, 2020 from 10 - 11 a.m. with Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, attendance to the services will be by invitation only. Thoughts and condolences can be left in the online guest book.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in memory of Bob to the Salvation Army and/or Heart and Stroke Foundation.

My deepest condolences. I will always remember Bobby’s friendly and polite nature. He was always so nice to me. I will also remember his joy in sharing his passion for cooking too. He introduced me to my first taste of Jalapeño poppers and smoking meat. He’s gone too soon and he will be missed.

Bobby was a warm and intelligent person, who was easy to talk to and always made me feel at home and a part of the family. He will never be forgotten.
