In memory of

Bing Lun Hui 許炳麟先生

January 27, 1939 -  October 25, 2024

With much sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Mr. Alan Bing Lun HUI OStJ (許炳麟先生). (1939-2024)

Our late father, originated from Guangdong Province Panyu District, was born in Hong Kong Tsan Yuk Hospital on January 27, 1939. He is married to his beloved wife (Shirley) in 1966 for 58 years, and had 3 children. He worked hard to provide the best for his family. Although he is a gentleman of little words, his love for his family shines through all the things that he has done for us. Despite his achievements in his professional life and volunteering, we know that his family was always his priority. He is always happy to see his children and grandchildren around him and provides us with valuable wisdom. We will never forget his love, determination, wisdom and patience. He came to Christ and was baptised in 2006.

Before he migrated to Canada, he was a Chartered Accountant by profession, and retired from the controller and company secretary position at a prominent Fortune 500 international business cooperation (Asia Pacific branch). He is known by his colleagues and subordinates to be a strong, kind and generous leader.

The late Mr. Hui retired from his role of Assistant Commissioner of St. John Ambulance, Kowloon and New Territories Command in Hong Kong just before he migrated to Canada to reunite with his children. He then became an Honourary Life Member of the Hong Kong Chapter of the Ontario St. John Fellowship, and a proud recipient of the Order of St.John (officer) and Ultra Long Service Medal of the St. John Ambulance in 1987 and 2020 respectively. He continued to serve the Hong Kong Chapter of the Ontario St. John Fellowship assuming the role of Hon. Treasurer ever since he joined the St. John family in Canada.

Mr. Hui is survived by his wife Shuet Yee (Shirley) and his three children Yvonne, Maggie, and William and seven grandchildren.

Please join us in mourning the loss of our dear husband, father and grandfather. His friendly smile, determination and kindness will always be remembered.

That’s my pleasure to know Mr. Hui since 2008. As I am also the executive member of the same group. Allan was kind, gentle and sincere to every member. He served as the role model for the junior. We deeply missed him. We shall pray for him.
