In memory of

Beverley Shaw

November 10, 1933 -  May 29, 2023

With much sadness, we announce that Beverley Joan Joy Shaw (nee Ford), passed away peacefully on May 29th, 2023 at the Leaside Retirement Residence in Toronto, ON.

Born in Toronto on November 10,1933 to Millie and Bertie Sr. She was a welcome addition to a family with 6 older brothers – Roy, Bertie Jr.,Bob, “Snowy”, Cy and “Babe” all of whom she has missed immensely since their passing. She married Toronto Argonaut Danny Shaw in 1957 (1933-1992).

Bev worked for the Toronto District School Board prior to her marriage. She then returned to the Board in 1981, retiring in 1998. During that time, she made many long-lasting friendships.

She is fondly remembered by her children – Stephen (Carolyn Jodoin), Susan (Michael Russell) and her birthday buddy Danielle (Barrie Doyle).

Her grandchildren, Kameron and Griffin will have loving memories always of the constant generosity and unconditional love from their “Nuz”.

Thoughts of sweet “Auntie Bev” will always be in the hearts of her multitude of nieces and nephews, near and far.

Bev was also a thoughtful friend, a good Neighbour and a surrogate mother to many throughout her lifetime.

A celebration of her life will take place at York Funeral Centre, on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
In lieu of flowers Bev had requested a donation to The Toronto Star Santa Claus Fund.

We would also like to thank all the caring and dedicated staff we have met in the last six months at Mount Sinai Hospital, Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital, Leaside Retirement Residence and The Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care.

I will truly miss Auntie Bev’s texting me about all familiaford’s adventures and all the food we love to eat. These texts helped me get through my long work days at home during the pandemic. We would chat at 4:30 am California time. Priceless and a great way to start a very long day. Thank you Auntie Bev for accepting me into your family.
