In memory of

Betty Lilian D'Arcy

November 7, 1932 -  September 21, 2023

Born on November 7, 1932 in London, England, died September 21, 2023 Toronto, Ontario. Predeceased by her husband Thomas and sister Irene. Betty is survived by her children Janet (John) & Stephen (Lynn), grandchildren Isabella, Katharine, Patrick & Claire, great granddaughter Cayenne.

Despite living in Canada for the majority of her years, Betty was ‘aggressively British’. She loved a good cup of tea, a gin & tonic, travelling - and most of all she loved her grandchildren. Special thanks to the 4B staff at Fieldstone Common who provided care and comfort over the last 3 years. A celebration of life will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery & Funeral Centre 625 Birchmount Rd on Sunday October 15th at 1:30pm

Betty was a great friend to my mother Brenda MacDonald and I met her many times. Mom and Betty worked together and even many years after they retired, some of the ladies would get together for lunch and have great visits and lots of fun. Mom passed away six years ago now and I'm sure you will miss your mother as much as we miss ours. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family at this time.

Betty was a good friend to my late Mom Audrey deceased (2 1/2 years) and me for many years. Dad is 91 and living in long term care.

Mom and Betty became friends when they worked for Simpsons many years ago and I met Betty through Mom. Mom and Betty had many laughs and yes at times tears and the occassional argument but that is what good friends are all about. Betty wrote beautiful notes and letters, some of which I have today and a figureine she gave me. Betty loved her British roots and good cup of tea.

Betty you are finally at peace.

Say hi to Mom and my wife and tell her we miss so much.

We send our condolences to the entire family at this difficult time.

I got to know Betty during a few holiday dinners at Janet's home. My parents had lived a cross the road when Janet & John moved in. And myself being from Scottish parents, Betty & I would settle in the front room chatting away about all things British. She was very proud of her heritage as I was of mine.
