In memory of

Betty Curnew

February 29, 1932 -  March 3, 2021

Peacefully on March 3, 2021 in her 90th year with her family by her side. Betty has now been reunited with her beloved husband of 61 years, the late Reg Curnew (October 2019). Loving mom of Lynn (Bob) and Scott (Sheelagh). Proud grandmother and cherished “Grandma” to Adam and Shaun. Predeceased by her brothers Arthur and Gordon. Over the years, Betty spent many summers at Lake Simcoe and enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach. A lifelong hockey fan, she could be found cheering on the Leafs or watching her grandsons play hockey. She was extremely proud of all of her grandson’s accomplishments, keeping a lucky shamrock by their photographs. Betty was a loyal friend, always looking out for her neighbours. But most important to her was her family. A friend to all furry and feathered creatures, memorial donations in Betty’s name can be made to the Toronto Wildlife Centre or Shades of Hope Wildlife Refuge.

So sad to hear the passing of Mrs Curnew. She was neighbours with my parents since the 60’s. Lynn and Scott are great friends. I’ll miss dropping in to say hi when I’m in Toronto.

I have such fond memories of a fun lady and kind neighbour who went over and above when she was needed.
