Bessie Destounis (nee Asimakopoulos) passed away peacefully after a hard fought battle with cancer. Bessie was a true Spartan Warrior right to the end. She was born in Amykles, Sparti in a family of seven brothers and sisters. She came to Canada when she was sixteen to start her new life. This is where she met her husband Nick and had her two sons Perry and Louis. They built a successful restaurant called The Lunch Bar. Bessie was a loving wife to Nick, mother of Perry (Nancy) and Louis (Toula) and amazing Yiayia to Victoria, Vanessa, Nick, Nicole and Billy. She worked hard her whole life and gave everything to her family. She loved baking with her grandchildren and spending time in her massive vegetable garden. She was loved and adored by everyone that knew her. She will forever be in our hearts. We will miss you always.
