In memory of

Bertram Lovell

January 27, 1928 -  July 4, 2022

Bertram Walter Lovell (January 27, 1928 - July 4, 2022). Predeceased by his wife of fifty years Kathleen and by his eldest son Anthony. Loving Father of Kathy and Paul (Chris) and beloved Poppa to Elizabeth (Hugh) and Michael. Fondly remembered by his niece Stephanie Lockhart and special friend Alda Gysen.

Born in Grendon, England, son of Ralph and Agnes Lovell, brother of Gwen and Robert (Janet), Bert served in the Royal Marines before becoming a Detective Constable in the regional Constabulary, where he met and married Kathleen. In 1954 they emigrated to Canada and settled in Toronto where they raised their three children. Bert worked in retail for forty years and was always active in the community. Bert's pride and joy was his family - especially spending time with his grandchildren. He cherished time outdoors tending to his garden, enjoying the company of his canine companions, and watching an afternoon baseball game.

Visitation will be on Thursday July 7th from 6-8pm at Pine Hills Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, Ontario M1K 1R1. Funeral Service will be held on Friday July 8th at 11am, also at Pine Hills Funeral Centre.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (https://cancer.ca/en/) or the Alzheimer's Society of Canada (https://alzheimer.ca/en).

The passing of Mr. Lovell has left me deeply heartbroken and sad. I have been friends with his daughter Kathy for many many years. It’s hard to accept that our parents are gone but unfortunately it’s a reality of life. The circle of life.
I will always have the fondest of memories of Mr. Lovell. Visits when I would return to Canada from the U.S.A, and especially the years that he would call my two older children when they were young. He magically became “Santa Claus” and made those Christmas’s endearing and unforgettable. Mr. Lovell was a man of integrity, kindness and loved his family dearly!
I will truly miss knowing he is here in this earthly life, but I do know that he had a glorious reunion with his dear wife and son. He will be watching with pride as his two children, Kathy and Paul, and his grandchildren live their lives in such a way that his legacy will live on!
I love and miss you Mr. Lovell!
Love always,
Lorrie
