With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Bernardino Bulaong, the youngest son of Amado Bulaong, Sr. and Remedios Adriano of Malolos, Bulacan. He departed peacefully at the Toronto General Hospital on February 28, 2025 at 12:04 a.m. at the age of 73 surrounded by his loving wife Daisy Namocatcat and family members.
Bernardino was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lamberto (married to Remedios Aguirre), Amado, Jr. (married to Ofelia Vito), Renato (married to Grace Fabella), sister Remedios (married to Rolly Rivera), brother Octavio (married to Ofelia Isidro), niece Lyn (married to Luis Cantona), and grandson Miguel Marquez.
His memory lives on with those who survive him: his wife Daisy of 46 years, sister Adoracion (married to Bonifacio Cruz), sister Nenita (married to Nestor Cruz), sister Merlita (married to Eduardo dela Cruz), nephews Edwin dela Cruz (married to Cheery Macintyre), Edgar, Benjie (married to Hazel Bauza), Bert (married to Daisy Mallari), Bernard (married to Lourdes Atencio), Alvin, Hansel (married to Ma. Cecilia Sacramento), Nestle (married to Cherry Angeles), and Ronaldo; nieces Rowena, Rosanne (married to Jeff Bergin), Olivia (married to James Young), Odette Bulaong, Pinky (married to Ari Peralta), Gen (married to Bryan Sangalang), Roselle (married to Carlos Marquez), half-sister Carol (married to Roger Evangelista); grandchildren Aaron dela Cruz, Christian dela Cruz, Versy Palces, Emilio Peralta, Isabella Peralta, Dairand Bulaong, Jacqueline Cruz, Gia Cruz and Charize Cruz, Lourdes Cantona, Riann Cantona, Luisito Cantona, Nathan Macintosh, Hayden Macintosh, Chloe Cruz, Nate Cruz, Nikka Cruz, Sydney Anne Cruz, Luigi Cruz, Darwin Cruz, Angelo Cruz, Graycen Young, Ezekiel Cruz, Isabella Sangalang, and Selyna Sangalang.
Bernie was a brilliant and a successful Certified Public Accountant. He held positions as Senior Accountant at the Price Waterhouse Philippines, taught Accounting in Philippine School of Business Administration, was VP-Finance at William Allan Real Estate for eleven years. Until the time of his death he continued to work as Vice President CFO at Group Aquitaine because he was still working on a luxury waterfront condo project in Orillia in Lake Couchiching. He helped build and operate Novotel Vaughan and Days Inn Orillia from feasibility studies preparation, to arranging for financing with the banks, then building the structures from the ground up and successfully managing their operations since 2003 and 2007, respectively. He enjoyed working with all the people in the organization.
