In memory of

Benny Ren-Yu Waung汪仁宇

June 13, 1931 -  December 29, 2021

Benny Ren-Yu Waung, 90, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away peacefully at his home on December 29, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 13, 1931 in Shanghai, China. Benny grew up and married in Shanghai, then moved to Sydney, Australia in 1961 where he had 3 children before finally settling in Canada in 1975 as a very successful real estate broker and property manager in Toronto.

Benny will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his beloved wife of 62 years, Julie Sze Ping, his eldest daughter, Anita and son-in-law Howard, his son, Kevin and daughter-in-law Susan and his youngest daughter Linda and son-in-law Richard, and his grandchildren Kyle, Nicholas, Aaron, Emily, Sydney, Kaitlyn and Colton. He is also survived by his younger sister, Ren Ying.

Benny was pre-deceased by his parents, Thomas and Doris, his eldest brother Alex Ren Wei, and younger sister Ren Juan. Benny will be fondly remembered by all including nephews, nieces, extended family and friends and will forever be in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. He made a tremendous impact on all our lives, with little regard for his own.

In light of COVID-19 gathering restrictions, and to ensure everyone’s health and safety, only a small gathering of immediate family members will be in attendance at the funeral service that will be held at Elgin Mills Funeral Center on January 6th, 2022 followed by a burial service at the Elgin Mills Cemetery. Please take a moment to sign the guest book for the family. Your love and support during these difficult times are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Leaving you with this poem that perfectly describes him. Love you always Dad!

He never looked for praises
He was never one to boast
He just went on quietly working
For those he loved the most

His dreams were never spoken
His wants were far & few
And all of his worries
Were for those he knew

He was the firm foundation
Through all our storms in life
A sturdy hand to hold onto
In times of stress and strife

A true friend you could always turn to
When times were good or bad
One of our greatest blessings
The man we were honored to call our Dad
