Benigno Galicia Muñoz

JMJ

Benigno (Ben) Galicia Muñoz was born on April 6, 1917 in San Carlos City, Pangasinan, Philippines. He was the seventh of 10 children of Laurentina and Tomas Muñoz.

On May 14, 2017, at the blessed age of 100, he passed to his eternal destiny in heaven peacefully, leaving with a smiling countenance on his face for us to remember, such that we can only feel pure joy for him at his long-awaited reward.

Ben married his beautiful and utterly devoted wife Betty in 1971, who with her, have 4 loving daughters, 4 loyal sons-in-laws and 8 delightful grandchildren, all of whom have brought unimaginable sparkle to his life. He was an exceptional and dedicated family man, providing a legacy of cherished memories.

Ben was a “good and faithful servant” both in his public and private life, pointing everyone he met to God. Humility, generosity and prayerfulness were his trademarks. Despite many trials, Ben was also blessed by many occasions of grace; he remained ever positive and cheerful, as the centrality of his life was love and joy, God himself!

A profound and contemplative man, filled with the Holy Spirit, Ben was an authentic and vocal witness to God’s immeasurable love and every person who has ever met him will attest to this. Moreover, each life he touched seemed to have been imbued with that same sense of effervescent joy. His immortal dream was to inspire and encourage and to bring souls to heaven.

Ben will be missed by his loving wife of 46 years, Betty (nee Bedaña), his children Michelle (Keith) Li, Cecilia (Greg) Sioulis, Suzanne (Bert) Orquiola and Lisa (Anthony) Reyes; grandchildren Michaela, Trinity, Nicholas, Michael, Gabriella, Laurentina, Olivia and Matthew; brother Dr. Angel Muñoz. He will be missed by many relatives and friends.

The family of Ben wish to extend a heartfelt thank you for the selfless kindness and compassion of the entire TinayEnTomas family, the whole Bedaña clan, the MGH dialysis team; Dr. Chow, Dr. Chan and wonderful nurses, the Temmy Latner Centre palliative care team; Dr. Algu, CCAC, PSWs and nurses. Deepest gratitude to Mother Mary.

Both in life and in death, all glory and praise be to God.

Our condolences to the Munoz family. Mr. Munoz was a kind and gracious man and so loved his family. He always had a smile and made all feel welcome whether it was at the Munoz home or family function or gathering. It was a pleasure to know you Mr. Munoz. You and Mrs. Munoz have raised such amazing daughters who have become like family to ours. Rest in peace.
