In memory of

Beatrice Yvonne Challis

August 20, 1923 -  August 21, 2022

Bea Challis (nee Grimbleby), on Sunday, August 21, 2022, the day after her 99th birthday, passed peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital. Darling wife and best friend of Jim and dear sister of Murray and Ruth, each of whom predeceased her. Loving mother of Jim and Bill (Jennifer), dear mother-in-law of Heather, proud grandmother of Aaron, Amy (Joe) and Jameson, great grandmother of Noah, Alyssa, Sierra and Brayden, and loving aunt of her several nieces and nephews. Bea was a member of the ‘greatest generation’ who survived the Depression and WWII to find life’s rewards in family and friends, music and art. Bea was a voracious reader of history, biographies and fiction; and her artistic talents made her a prolific and accomplished landscape and portrait painter. One of her proudest achievements was learning to drive a car in her 50th year. But Bea’s greatest joy was always her family. Visitation: Pine Hills Funeral Centre, Friday August 26, 4 to 6 pm and Visitation Saturday August 27, 12:30 pm with Service at 1:30, followed by Interment.
