In memory of

Beatrice DeMoura

February 8, 1934 -  October 12, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beatrice DeMoura on October 12 at Scarborough General Hospital with her loving family by her side.
To her husband Jose, she was the love of his life for more than 70 years and they recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
Beloved Mother to Dina (Edgar), Henry (Jennifer), Joseph (Pam), Denise (deceased) and Anita (Dan deceased). Loving Grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.
Beatrice is also survived by brothers Al, Tony, Joe and Gus of Stoughton MA and Zita of Toronto. Predeceased by her parents Joao and Beatrice Aguiar, brother John and sister Celeste.
Born in Madeira Portugal, Beatrice met the love of her life Jose at the age of 14. She emigrated to the Boston area with her family in 1951 but her heart remained with Jose as did his with her as he prepared to emigrate to Canada. They reunited in 1954 and married in 1955 settling in Toronto and raising a fine family in the Beach. Beatrice was a dedicated Catholic and her faith carried her through some challenging times.
Other than her great devotion to her family, Beatrice's passion was gardening. Nobody had a green thumb like Bea. Her garden was full of vegetables, fruits and flowers and several of her houseplants are more than 50 years old. Everyone in the family has a cutting or plant gifted by her with her magic touch. She will remain present in all the gardens we see, her nurturing soul continuing in the same way she nurtured family over all these years.
