Dear Jan and Family,
I am so sorry to hear about Bart's death. Bonnie kept me updated, and I know how devoted you were to him and by his side throughout his journey. It was a tough journey, but I am sure that your wonderful sense of humour and compassion were always present. I am thinking of you and hope that memories of your husband and your strong relatioship will help to sustain you through this difficult time.

So sad to hear of Bart’s passing. I really enjoyed our time together over the years. He was a loving husband, father and friend and will be missed by many.

I am so very sorry for your loss. It is awful that our families have drifted apart over the years. My sympathy to you Harriet on the loss of your brother. I remember so many family celebrations at my Oma’s with fondness.
Please send me your current address so that we may stay in touch.

Memory vignettes of life with my brother Bart. Building snowmen with deep snow in Rosemere. Raiding maple sap from the tap cans in nearby forests ... delicious! Sailing and swimming in Cape Cod. Bart was allergic to pine trees at that time. Why we stayed at Pine Acres, I never understood. Parties on Overbank when our parents were in Europe. How much he was swept off his feet by Jan. Instead of visiting me at Doe Lake camp one summer, he drove to New Brunswick to visit the love of his life! Bart was always giving brotherly advice, very helpful. It was done with kindness and care. Sadly, he had the family memory, not myself but he was a good brother who loved all of us. When I was six we visited Santa's Village on the south shore of the St. Lawrence. Fast forward 55 years when Rob and I did a road trip on the same route. Bart said you will go right past Santa's Village and we did! What a guy. Rest in peace my brother, Love, Harriet and Rob
