In memory of

Barry Craig

October 1, 1955 -  May 10, 2018

It is with profound sadness that the Craig family announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Barry on May 10, 2018. He is reunited with the love of his life Susan (nee Haight).
Barry was a loving, steady and guiding compass to his three children Jamie (Justin), David, Christie (Jordan) and the solid centre to his brother Stephen (Mary) and sister Catherine (John). He will be remembered as the cherished brother-in-law to Cheryl and Gordon (Joanne) Haight of Calgary and the fun uncle to Michael, Jeffrey, Allison and Keeley. He was the beloved son of the late George and Norma Craig and son-in-law of the late Gordon and Beverley Haight. He was a dear nephew to his aunts, Christine, Dorothy and Pauline and always enjoyed connecting with his many cousins in the Craig, McCulloch, McCullough, Potter, and Robinson families. Lolo Barry will be missed by Tessie and her family.
Barry ran a successful contracting company for over forty years. He delighted his clients with his fine workmanship and dedication to their projects. Throughout the years, he developed relationships leading to many lasting friendships with his clients and colleagues.
Barry was a loyal, long and steadfast friend to many he met at Park Lawn Public School, Royal York Collegiate, the University of Windsor and beyond. He had fond and happy memories growing up in his neighbourhood in Etobicoke where he participated in many sports and enjoyed just hanging out with the guys in the family basement. His greatest joy was to be surrounded by his family and friends especially at Dyson Lake.
Barry’s quiet gentle kindness will be cherished and forever remembered by many. He will stay forever young.
A service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at The Simple Alternative Mississauga (1535 South Gateway Road) followed by a reception at Le Treport Convention Centre (1075 Queensway East).
If desired, donations in Barry’s memory may be made to: Jumpstart Charity-Canadian Tire (www.jumpstart.canadiantire.ca); the George and Norma Craig Scholarship, awarded to students in the Department of Material Science and Engineering, Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering, University of Toronto (35 St. George Street, Room 116, Toronto M5S 1A4); or to a charity of your choice.

I will always remember Barry's smile and laughter. I go back to early days baby-sitting him. When I was in high school I had a project to do and I chose to do a study on Barry. I still smile when I remember Norma telling me he asked her how she was going to get (Cathy) the baby out when she was pregnant. He asked if she would put a string down with a hook and pull the baby out like fishing.!! I will always smile remembering Barry.

Dear David
I am so truly sorry to hear about your Dad,
I only met him when we went to your baseball games and in those few times I realized what a nice caring man he was.
Be courageous in these hard times.
God bless
Fawzia and Pesi
