Barry Arthur Purvis MCCOY Peacefully at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa, on October 29, 2016. Born in Toronto to Rose and Joe McCoy on January 24, 1927, the second of four children. Pre-deceased by his wife Lois (nee Hornidge), his sister Rosemary, brothers Lewis and Bill and son Joey. Beloved father to Melissa (Bill), Michael (Kathy), Patrick (Nancy) and Sean (Vivian). Cherished grandfather to Amanda, Nicole, Eric, Hollie, Mary, Aidan and Will. Great-grandfather to Evynne and Delaney. An avid sportsman and fisherman, Barry enjoyed 30 active years of retirement after a 40-year career with Ontario Hydro. A truly kind, friendly and gentle man, Barry loved family and his many friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Simple Alternative, 1057 Brock Road, Pickering, November 4, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation prior to the service 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
