So sorry for your loss. She was such a lovely, lively and welcoming woman. Such a tough disease to watch a loved one go through. I hope you and Laurie are doing Ok.

Barbara Gee was my executive assistant. She was a brilliant communicator and remarkable problem solver and leader to be admired. Her advocacy for the secretaries of North York was exemplary. Without hesitation she invited the Director to her office to meet about the proposed contract for secretaries and the inequities it contained. After that meeting, the contract was changed to address those issues! She was able to build trust with each and every administrator in her family of schools. She was respected and valued as a knowledgeable resource to others, not just in her family of schools but across the Board.. To me, she was an invaluable resource and advocate. For all of us, Barbara went well beyond her responsibilities to resolve problems, make change and create a positive work environment. Her bubbling personality, dedication to education and desire to make the world a better place for our youth was greatly missed when she retired. On a daily basis, we missed her joyous laugh, sparkling eyes and her valued loyalty friendship.
Since then, I was blessed to have Barbara remain my friend.
