In memory of

Ban Tong Ng

July 24, 1949 -  March 23, 2025

The Ng family shares with profound sadness that our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Ban Tong Ng, passed away on March 23, 2025, due to unforeseen complications following surgery. He passed on in peace, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in 1949 in Toishan, China, Ban carried with him the proud traditions of his heritage. Seeking a better life, he immigrated to Canada in the late 1960s.

He delighted in sharing vivid tales of his life experiences, always eager to connect with others through his memories. Ban’s passions were simple: he found joy in practicing tai chi, savouring good meals, doing DIY projects, and spending time with family and dogs.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Brenda, and his loving daughters, Juliann, Monica, and Annette. He was a proud grandfather to Justine, Marcus, Ryan, Kelly, and Shawn, each of whom will forever carry his stories and gentle spirit in their hearts.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 28, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service beginning at 2:15 p.m. at the Elgin Mills Funeral Home.

Those who wish to offer support may consider donations to the Mon Sheong Foundation (please select the Stouffville Long-Term Care Centre on the donation page at https://www.monsheong.org/) or the Markham Stouffville Hospital (https://www.mshf.on.ca/). There is also a donation tab in the menu.

We are deeply grateful for the support and condolences we have received. May Ban’s memory continue to inspire patience, kindness, and resilience in all who knew him.

I will always remember Mr. Ng’s smiling and friendly demeanor. He struck me as a hard working man always wanting to work but he also loved his daughters so very much and that was always abundantly clear. The world has lost a kind and loving human being and know that I send positive and healing thoughts to all of the family during this difficult time. With much love.
