In memory of

Baek Lan Choe

September 29, 1945 -  April 1, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the family of Baek Lan Choe (née Kim) announce her sudden passing on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the age of 77.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 53 years, Sung; her son Anthony and his wife Corrina; and her daughter Jennifer and her husband Frank; grandchildren: Maxson, Sophia and Charlotte; grandpets: Mochi and Turbo; as well as numerous relatives and friends that have been lucky enough to have been blessed to know her.
Baek Lan Choe was born in South Korea on September 29, 1945. She grew up in Seoul and was known for her intellect, stunning beauty and caring heart. She had many friends and graduated from Sook-Myung University, which was a top women’s university in Seoul. She and her husband enjoyed a three year courtship and got married in 1970 and made the brave and adventurous decision to move to Canada in 1971 while she was eight months pregnant. She lived a busy and active life as a career woman, dedicated mom to Anthony and Jennifer and loving wife to Sung. She was active at her church and served for many years in the church choir. What made her special was her unparalleled beauty, her sense of humour and fashion style, her strong will and her unmatched Korean culinary skills. She enjoyed a great wine or cocktail and she loved to travel the world. She had an adventurous spirit and nothing made her happier than being with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren and friends.
There will be a Visitation held at 10 am, on April 6, 2023, at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre located at 375 Mount Pleasant Road. There will be a Service at 11 am followed by a Reception from 12 – 2 pm also at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre.
