It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Athanasios "Tom" Marinis. Athanasios passed away peacefully on February 12,2025 after a brief illness. Born in Petralona, Greece Athanasios immigrated to Canada in the 1960s, where he settled in Toronto and built a career as a restaurant entrepreneur. Athanasios is survived by his wife Elly, his sons Frank (Thalia) and Bill and his grandchildren Tommy, Tiffani, Elly-May and Ava. He is also survived by his siblings Asimina (Meni), Dimitri (Panayiota), Yianni (Olympia) and Akrivi (George). He was predeceased by his siblings Bill and Kiriakoula.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 18th from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at St. Panteleimon, Anna and Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church (11323 Warden Ave. Markham), where the funeral service will also be held on Wednesday, February 19th at 10:30AM
The interment will follow at Elgin Mills Cremation and Funeral Center (1591 Elgin Mills Rd. East, Richmond Hill).
