It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Artur Duarte Borges, on Monday February 6, 2023, at the age of 75.

Artur leaves behind his wife of 47 years Juvelina, his son Gary (Alexandra) and two beautiful grandchildren Henrik and Celeste.

Artur was born in the city of Urzelina on the Azorean Island of Sao Jorge but spent most of his life living on the Island of Terceira. At the age of 22 Artur served for the Portuguese army and did so for over 3 years stationed in Angola. This is where Artur adopted great discipline, something which followed him throughout his life. Those who knew him know he held tight to his daily routine: an early riser, avid walker, timely meals with a glass of his favourite vino. He will be remembered for many things among them a generous man who observed from the sidelines but always stepped in to offer a helping hand.
