In memory of

Arlene Gwendolyn Lee

October 29, 2024

A beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024, in Ottawa, Ontario, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease and cancer. Born in Toronto on July 6, 1941, she was 83 years old. Arlene was a remarkable woman with a passion for life. She pursued a successful career as a computer programmer in the insurance industry, a real estate broker, and ran a Bed and Breakfast. Her interests were diverse, encompassing gardening, fashion, sewing, home restoration, and education for children. She collected thousands of children's books with the hope of starting a second children's library in Africa or the Caribbean as she had briefly done in Barbados.

Arlene leaves behind her three children, Reginald, Celeste, and Chris, and five grandchildren, Thomas, Rupert, Clara, Evelyn, and Keenan.

She was a proud member of the Anglican Church.

Graveside Service at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Section 54 on Thursday, November 7th at 10:30 am. Followed by a Reception Gathering at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Society of Canada, a charity that was close to Arlene's heart.
