In memory of

Antonietta Croce

November 9, 1925 -  December 12, 2023

It is great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Antonietta Pompilio Croce on December 12, 2023 at Cawthra Gardens Long Term Care Residence.

Antonietta is predeceased by her parents, Raffaele and Pascuccia Pompilo; her husband, Giovanni Croce; her brothers, Armando and Pierino, her sister, Assunta and her dear friends, John Clark and Peter Wood. She will be greatly missed by her son, Carmine, his wife, Gina, and their two daughters, Alexandra and Christina, and her sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews here in Canada and Italy.

Antonietta’s 98 years began in the small town of Sora, Frosinone, Italy. She would often tell stories of the Germans coming in to her town during WWII and up to her last days, would proudly sing the Italian anthem. Antonietta came to Canada with Giovanni in 1961 via Halifax and they settled in Little Italy in Toronto for most of their lives until they moved to Mississauga in 1992. Until she could no longer, Antonietta enjoyed music and singing, her garden of flowers and vegetables, making tomato sauce with family and friends and, of course, cooking.

A memorial service will be held at the Meadowvale Funeral Centre, Brampton, on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Mississauga, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Antonietta’s family would appreciate a donation of a memorial tree or to a charity of your choice. Online condolences can be made by clicking the "Guestbook" tab on the top right

Lastly, her family would like to thank all the dedicated management and staff at Cawthra Gardens Long Term Care Residence, 590 Lolita Gardens, Mississauga for taking such good care of Nonna these last three years.
