Antigoni Kotsopoulos

Antigoni Kotsopoulos
April 20, 1932 – September 16, 2019

Our dear wife, mother, grandmother and Great-Grandmother Antigoni passed away peacefully in her 87th year, surrounded by her beloved family.
Antigoni came to Canada in 1970 with her children Anna, Jim and Steve to join her husband John and oldest son Angelo, who came to Canada in 1966 and 1968 to earn enough money to bring the family together. During this time Antigoni often struggled to put food on the table for her and her children, but was able to persevere as she had to be the mother, father and family provider.
Antigoni will be sadly missed by her husband John after celebrating their 68th wedding anniversary on September 13, 2019.
Antigoni was also blessed and filled with joy to be the mother in law for son in law Don and Daughter in laws Katherine, Christine and Vicki and Grandmother to Jennifer, Stephanie, Justin, Anthony, Jonathan, Juliana, Joshua and Evan and Great Grandmother to Asher and Arya.
Rest in peace Yia Yia Antigoni, You will forever be in our hearts and prayers.

Dear Anne and Family: It is with heartfelt sadness to learn about your mom's passing. I have the following memory of her from years back when we were all young teens. Thea Gona used to make pita with raisins and walnuts - two recipes with which my mom and I were not acquainted. Well, that started us onto branching out into a new sweet direction! Thea Gona was always very kind to me personally. I will miss her humility and gentle smile. I've been praying for you all that the Lord will wrap His compassionate arms around you during this sensitive time. May she rest in peace. With sincere condolences. xoxo

When we first met many, many years ago she made me feel very welcome as a new member of the family. I will never forget her warmth and wonderful spirit. She will be greatly missed by many. May she be at peace in our Lords arms.

We will miss Aunt “Gona” very much; and, in particular, her frequent phone calls after Peter’s death. She adored him!! I am glad that I was able to share so many wonderful times with her and Uncle John. The beautiful Phlox in my garden, that she passed on to me when they moved from their house to the condo, will be a constant reminder of her generosity and love of gardening. Paradise will be made even more beautiful.
