In memory of

Annie Hughes Burgoyne

June 18, 1940 -  November 9, 2022

ANNIE (NAN) HUGHES BURGOYNE (nee SMITH) Born June 18, 1940, in Glasgow Scotland. Died November 9, 2022, in Toronto. Beloved wife of Bill Burgoyne, much loved mother of Alex Burgoyne (Megan) and the late Doug Burgoyne (Celeste) and dear grandmother of Max, Samantha, Rhys, and James. She was a loving sister to the late Sandy Smith and Hugh Smith, aunt to Donald (Janice), Diane (Sandy), Deborah, Alexa (Ross), Peter, Alan (Anne), Alison (Stuart), Karen, Hugh, and Bobby.
She was a doting mother and created a loving home. Annie cherished spending time with her family, telling stories, sharing a meal, or going to the park. She was warm and caring, and everyone who met her was touched by her kindness. As much as we miss her here, she has now found the people she loved that left this earth before her.

Nan was a wonderful aunt. She was always so kind and welcoming. I've known her my whole life - it is very hard to accept that she is gone.

Billy, Alex and the whole family, please accept my condolences. I know you have many happy memories of Nan; I hope those memories will ease your grief a little.

Not sure what to say other than I loved Aunt Nan and will miss her. She was so caring, always there with a shoulder if needed……and of course made the best shortbread!
Our deepest sympathies to Uncle Billy, Alex and all the family.

Life Well Lived
A life well lived is a precious gift
Of hope and strength and grace,
From someone who has made our world
A brighter, better place
It’s filled with moments, sweet and sad
With smiles and sometimes tears,
With friendships formed and good times shared
And laughter through the years.
A life well lived is a legacy
Of joy and pride and pleasure,
A living, lasting memory
Our grateful hearts will treasure
