In memory of

Anne Hurl

November 25, 1939 -  September 7, 2018

With heavy hearts the family of Anne Hurl celebrates her return to the Lord, surrounded by loved ones on Friday, September 7, 2018, at the age of 78.

With the angels at her bedside, Anne passed gracefully at Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto and will be deeply missed by her daughter Tina Hurl-Priestley (Drew Priestley), along with her grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah and Evanna, as well as her dearest friend Shirley Wood. Lovingly remembered by her last surviving sibling, Margret Ryan (Reuben Ryan) and nephews, Jeff, Craig and Steven.

A friend too many who crossed her path, Anne a born-again Christian, will be remembered for her gentle yet feisty spirit, kind heart and her ultimate selflessness. She was always quick to remind you that, "God sees everything, so you better watch what you're doing!" and remember not to fret "When you've done everything you can do, God will step in and do what you can't do." HE never gives you more than you can handle, she would say.

When it became clear that she could no longer fight this harsh battle, which she had fought so tirelessly to win, she passed as she had lived, demonstrating God's love, mercy, grace and holiness. She had Jesus in those final moments and has now returned home. We must try not cry, but instead just look to the ski, as she will be waiting patiently for everyone of us, when it's our time to die.

For those of us left behind with broken hearts, she wouldn't want us to cry for long, but rather seek comfort in this scripture, "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, from now on." "Blessed indeed" says the Spirit, "that may rest from their labours, for their deeds follow them!"(Revelation 14:13).

May she rest in paradise.

An informal graveside service will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery & Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229) on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 1 p.m. (Section 3, 1329). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Bible Society @ https://biblesociety.ca/.

Rest in the arms of the Lord, you have fought hard and have earned your wings. Rest knowing you are deeply missed by all those who knew you.

I have no words, it is truly heartbreaking. My deepest sympathies to you and the kids. I am certain "Nana" Will be with all of you guiding and protecting you through life's journeys.
