In memory of

Anne Hewitt

January 16, 1940 -  July 30, 2022

Our family had the good fortune of sharing in the life of Anne (nee Rose) Hewitt who left this earth peacefully on Saturday July 30 to join her beloved Fred.
She loved and was loved, deeply, by her family and dear friends who supported and surrounded her during her courageous battle with breast cancer.
Mom dealt with her latest diagnosis in July the same way she met every challenge in her life: with determination, grace, pride, and a dose of Scottish humour. Mom relied on her strong faith in God to face adversity, confident that God had a plan. She taught us what it means to be brave and strong and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was incredibly proud of her grandchildren (Ivy, Pippa, Bowie, and Natalie), the joy of her life!
She is survived by children Andrew (Tammy), Jennifer (Rob) and Christine (Bob) as well as her many nieces and nephews in Scotland.
We thank the many compassionate staff of Scarborough General and Providence Palliative Care for helping to care for Mom.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Providence Healthcare are greatly appreciated.
Visitation and Funeral service at St. David’s Presbyterian on Saturday August 13, 2022. Cremation and a private interment at Pine Hills to take place at a later date.

Anne has been a close and very dear friend for more than 50 years. Since our retirement we have spoken and/or e-mailed every day and we have been through the hills and valleys together. What a "Straight shooter" she was. If you could not accept an honest opinion, Anne was not the person to ask.
It is so difficult to believe that she left us "in a flash" but I am relieved that she did not have to suffer for many years as is the case with many others.
I am left with only the most cherished memories of my dear friend.
Rest in Peace dear friend.

My deepest condolences to Jennifer, Andrew, Christine and their families. Anne was the first person I met at line dance class where we shared many laughs and missteps. May you continue to dance a jig or two in your next life. You will be missed my friend.
