In memory of

Ann Springett

June 27, 1941 -  February 25, 2022

Pretty woman, walking down the street…

Ann (Peggy) Springett (nee Smith), beloved wife of Tom, daughter of John (Jack) and Margaret, Mother to Susan, Stephanie, Sharon, Karl and Steve, (as well as her pets Rocky, Sydney and Seamus), Mother in law to Michael, Ed, Doug, Sharon and Jenn, Grandmother/Nanny to Lee, Dawn, Rory, Amy, Brandon, Jesse, Katy, Matthew, Gregory and Jon, step/pseudo Grandmother to Tim, Lindsay, Calvin and Emma, Great Grandmother to Hayley, Keegan, Kael, Julia, Ryan, Noah, Alexa, Caleigh, Aidan, Phoenix, Jersey, Nathan, Coltin, CJ, Kaydince, Emma, Brennley, Spencer, Nova and Brian, Sister to Harry, Tom, Vera, Liam and Sissy, Aunt to David, Brian, Tracey, Liamo, Rachel, Robert,Tony, Janis, caregiver to many and friend to all she met including her neighbour Pat who has become like a member of our family passed peacefully at home in her sleep in her 80th year during the evening of Friday February 25 2022, surrounded by the love of all those mentioned and that of many who are too numerous to name.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, care and compassion that is unmatched. From her childhood in Dublin to her formative years in London and finally her home in Oshawa where she built her life and raised her family the many lives she touched were enriched and enhanced. Always quick with a shoulder to cry on or a quip to make you cry laughing, she loved life and always looked on the bright side of it, no complaints (except when the Blue Jays were struggling, then she had complaints), no regrets. Her generosity and selflessness knew no bounds. She was our rock and our soft landing, our teacher and our hero, and she always will be. Rest now Mom, you did it your way, we love you, and thank you for everything.

Pretty woman, don't walk on by…
Pretty woman, don't make me cry…
Pretty woman, don't walk away, hey…
Okay, if that's the way it must be, okay…

Peggy will be missed very much, she was a big part in my childhood and I will greatly miss the greetings from the porch as I get home from work everyday.
Rest easy Peggy! My thoughts go out to you and your loved ones.
