In memory of

Ann McCarthy

November 6, 1939 -  October 9, 2023

It is with sadness and a deep sense of loss, the family announces the passing of Ann, beloved wife of Don, loving mother of Suzanne (Kevin) and Jennifer and proud grandmother of Lauren and Ryan (Clara). Ann is survived by her younger brother Graham (Connie). California

Ann passed after a brief struggle with cancer, with Don and her two daughters at her side.
Born in London, England, Ann persuaded her entire family to immigrate to Toronto in 1957, in search of a diferent life in Canada. Her family ultimately moved to California but Ann had found a good reason to remain in Canada, Don McCarthy. They both worked at Nestles head office in Toronto where the romance began. Married in 1959, they formed a life long partnership managing Don’s successful career to the high levels of the food and consumer products industry.

Ann performed admirably in her own right including designation as First Lady of most companies Don Managed.
Ann loved dinner parties, live theater, travel, working with Don on business conferences. She was full of energy, enjoyed social engagements, athletic activities such as tennis and golf. She could converse with any person on current events or the latest social trends. She made life long friends from all walks of her life and in many of the different countries that they traveled to, lived in and where Don worked.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at St. Michael’s Hospital for their personal care and assistance.
A celebration of Ann’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 18th at 2pm at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre. A reception to follow upstairs.
