Angelos Plytas
May 6, 1939 – October 29, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Angelos Plytas at the age of 85. Born in Kalamata, Greece, on May 6, 1939, Angelos was the beloved husband of Barbara for 59 years, a devoted father to Vicky, Kiki (Dean), Georgia (Graham) and George (Gina) and proud “Papou” to his cherished grandchildren Damian(Jessica), Evan, Maya, Paige, Jayden and KC.

Angelos the eldest of seven siblings. With the resilience and dedication he embodied throughout his life, he immigrated to Canada on September 4, 1963. Bringing these endearing qualities along with him, he was able to start a new life, and slowly brought five of his siblings to join him here in Canada, the land of opportunity. On December 4, 1965 he married Barbara and together started their family.

Among the businesses he ran in Greece, Angelos also worked tirelessly here, and retired from Metro Homes for the Aged, providing service for their facility for over 25 years. He loved to travel back to his beloved homeland in Kalamata and throughout Greece to visit his family and childhood friends.

Angelos leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and commitment to family that will be remembered for many, many generations to come. His memory will live on through those who knew him and loved him forever.

They say it is not the years in your life that matter but the life in your years. Having heard about you (dear Angelos) from George and seeing you for the first time in a picture, there is no doubt that you had a larger-than-life, undying presence. My thoughts go out to George and his family. May your presence sparkle in their lives forever.

I am so sad to hear about your Dad's passing. I have such great memories of always being treated like one of the family at your parent's home. Time spent with you all were my best memories from Canada. May he rest in peace.
