In memory of

Angelo Mishos

February 8, 1928 -  March 20, 2025

Angelo passed away peacefully at Collingwood General Hospital on March 20th, 2025, at 97 years of age. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years Katherine (Kitty), his children Donna (Kosta), Peter (Kathy), Steven, Glenn and Tammy (Andrew), Debbie (Cecil), and was predeceased by his son Jimmy. Whether by blood or by marriage, Angelo loved all his children dearly. Proud Dedo to Lefteris (Debby) and Elizabeth, Meagan (Jarrett), Kyle (Lex) and Taylor, Sabrina and Michael, and Christopher (Valerie). Great-grandfather to Jiordana and Kostandinos, and Blake. Dearly loved by his sister Helen, and his many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. Angelo will be dearly missed by his nephew Andrew, his niece Elaine (George), and his countless other relatives and friends - every one of them held a special place in Angelo’s heart.

Angelo had a phenomenal life, he grew up in Armensko (Alona), Greece, immigrating at 19 to Canada in 1947 and settling in Windsor. The son of Ordana and Spiro, a successful restauranteur, Angelo became a very successful businessman in his own right, eventually moving to Toronto and then Mississauga, where he was the owner of the Dixie Restaurant and Tavern. He was a kind and generous man, philanthropist and proud member of the Civitan Club in Mississauga.

Angelo was a proud member of the Macedonian community in Windsor, and went on to become a very well-respected and admired businessman in Mississauga. Angelo worked very hard all his life, and in retirement, Angelo loved to travel, with a keen interest in Golf and in later years he very much enjoyed playing pool and his time at the Senior Centre in Wasaga Beach. Angelo loved spending time with friends and family, which he prized above all else.

Angelo had a real zest for life, an undeniable charm, and an easy way about him, and his presence will be missed by all who loved him.

Visitation will be held at Pine Hills Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, on Monday March 24, 2025 from 5 - 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be celebrated at Pine Hills Funeral Centre on Tuesday, March 25 at 2p.m. with visitation an hour prior. Angelo was one of my closest friends, I’ve known him since he and his father bought Dixie Restaurant and Tavern in Dixie Plaza in the early 1960.
We have been friends and kept in touch all these years, I talked to him 2 weeks ago and he sounded great.
RIP MY FRIEND YOU’ll BE MISSED!
