In memory of

Andrzej Roman Walicht

August 7, 1947 -  February 25, 2024

Andrzej Roman Walicht passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep in Mississauga on Sunday February 25, 2024.

He was born in Poland, improved in Canada, as he liked to say.

He studied engineering at University of Toronto and additionally, upon receiving George Brown College diploma he became a licenced Master Journeyman in commercial Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating trade with rights to practice anywhere in Canada.

After working for 4 years at Beaver Engineering Ltd. in Toronto, Andrzej moved on to establish his own business together with his wife Izabella and both have run it successfully since 1976.

Andrzej was a judo junior champion of Poland and Europe. He was active in judo and training of his son Maciek who became Canada’s most talented competitor winning many trophies in Canada and Pan-AM games as well as being a qualifier for the Olympics.

Andrzej was also very active in culture and supported Tania, his daughter in her ballet performances and many other endeavours.

He believed in supporting community and hospitals, teaching and research. Most notable donation was that of the Electron Microscope for research and diagnostic purposes to Gdansk Medical Academy in Poland.

Andrzej’s greatest passion was his work and love of the family.

As the youngest of four siblings, he is the first to pass on to Heaven.
Andrzej’s sister Maryla and brother Henryk live in Poland, his brother Jozek, the undefeated World’s Judo Master Champion lives in Canada with his son and family.

Andrzej leaves behind the most beloved pride of his life, his children: first born son Maciek, daughter Tania, son-in-law Jiries and grandchildren JJ and Isla, whom he always found time to be with, to entertain, swim, ride bikes and participate in all their performances in arts and sports.

Left behind is also Izabella, love of Andrzej’s life, whom he married in Los Angeles in 1970, as well as his extended Rabba family, friends and clients.

Andrzej’s eternal smile, his golden heart and offer of help to anyone needing it, made many people say he was blessed. He did not want people in sadness and mourning, he wanted to celebrate life

Rest in Peace, Andrzej. Experience the eternal happiness and love of those dear one departed before you in God’s Kingdom in Heaven.
