Andromeda Jarquio, also lovingly known as Meding, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24th, 2023, at Centenary Hospital in Scarborough, Ontario. She was born on June 14, 1930, in Manila, Philippines. Meding was the eldest of 8 siblings.
Meding's faith and prayer were strong, and she found comfort and strength in her religion throughout her life. She moved to Toronto in 1987 to be reunited with her Mother, 3 younger sisters and extended family. Meding loved her entire family dearly and was always there to support and care for them.
Meding was was a loving aunt to all her nephews and nieces whom she had helped raise over many years. She loved to move to the rhythm of music. She had a passion for caring for her two adopted dogs, Scout and Mr. Wiggles, who were her loyal companions and brought her much joy and comfort when she would see them.
She was preceded in death by her parents Nicasio and Anacleta (Valdez) Jarquio; her brothers Ramon Jarquio and Victoriano Jarquio.
Meding's passing will be deeply felt by her surviving Jarquio and Valdez family members in Toronto, New York, Kansas, Georgia and Hawaii. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her love of eating chips, dancing and her strong faith.
A funeral service to honour Meding's life will be held on Thursday, March 2nd, at St. Thomas More Church, followed by interment at Pine Hills Cemetery in Scarborough. Meding will be forever missed and remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
