In memory of

Andrew Gene Regendanz

July 28, 1954 -  February 20, 2021

On Saturday February 20, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, Andy slipped away peacefully. Andy Regendanz, treasured husband of his wife of 36 years, Barbara Bjarnason, loving father to Sacha, (Edwin Makkinga), doting grandfather to Annika & Zachary, big brother to Liane, (Michael Craig) Phil & Brian. Oldest son to Guido Regendanz and Diana Melandri (predeceased July 2019).
Andy’s extended family included in-laws Dr. John (Robin Bjarnason), Christine, (Stephen Cox), Tom (predeceased) (Laura Bjarnason). Uncle “A” to Skye, Toby, Jamieson, Simon, Isabel, Matthew & Sheena.
Andy was self taught in everything he did. A well recognized and respected photographer, a gourmet cook and an independent thinker, he worked hard and lived his life fully.
Andy was an adventurer, a dreamer and exuded joy and generosity.
Andy will always be loved and sorely missed by his family and wide network of friends, neighbours & colleagues; his memory will continue to light up the lives that he had touched. He was a part of a tight creative community and contributed his constantly growing artistic talents. Andy mentored many talented photographers.
For 14 months, Andy faced his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer with optimism, courage and grace. He was an inspiration and example to us all.

Although it’s been years since we last talked he was a very large part of my life for many years and I loved him like a brother. This hits hard. Take care Barb. Miss you too. The picture posted is exactly how I’ll remember him.

I am blessed to have had Andy as a dear, dear friend, advisor, listener, joker, creative partner, problem solver and on and on. The last couple of years I simply referred to him as the oracle. Knower and seer of all. He helped so many of us in so many ways it can’t be measured. He of the big heart that will be missed yet remembered and admired. Til we meet again my friend.
