Andreas Dounas - It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Andreas Dounas, on Sunday (2nd Sunday of Lent) March 31, 2024. Andreas was born in Dimitritsi, Serres, Macedonia, Greece on February 18,1942. The Son of George and Vassilliki (nee Timba) Dounas. Beloved husband of Theofani for 52 years, loving father to his 3 sons and 2 daughters: George (Cynthia), Asimina (Ryan), Nektarios (Kathy), Presbytera Vassilliki (Fr Michael) and Simeon (Stacy). Cherished Pappou to ten grandchildren and one great grandchild: Fillip, Stefani (Mike), Andrew, Matthew, Chris, Effie, Izabella, Sofia, Zoe, Anastasia, and Kairo. Beloved sibling of Argiri, Theohari, Peter, Theogeni and the late Olga. Andreas lived Dimitritsi, Serres, Macedonia, Greece until he immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1969. Andreas lived a full and happy life and worked hard for his family and the church right up to his passing away. He had a great joy in keeping his garden. In his later years he spent many hours praying and reading daily. Andreas was in attendance at every church service at St Nicholas Orthodox Church whether night or day, expressing kindness and thoughtfulness to all. Andreas taught his children to work honestly and hard and help anybody who required assistance. He will be greatly missed and will always live on in our hearts. May he ever abide with our Saviour Jesus Christ in Heaven. Eternal Be His Memory!
