Füle András, Gábor – Budapest, March 6, 1943 – Mississauga, May 18, 2023

András's dream since childhood was to become an engineer. It was not easy since his father died in WWII at the battle at the Don River in Russia, before he could see his second son. But his mother, Dr. Takács Mária made it her life ambition to give university education to both his sons - Károly and András. They both became engineers.

András studied at the Budapest University of Technology’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering between 1961 and 1966. After graduation he worked at Eötvös Loránd University’s digital laboratory.

In 1968, András emigrated to Italy and later to Vienna, where he was employed by Norma Electrical Company. In 1969, he moved to Toronto, where he joined the Canadian unit of Control Data Corporation. In the U.S. city of Minneapolis, he mastered the handling, operation and programming of CDC supercomputers. During his 20-year career, he received several major recognitions, and awards for his successful projects, and was promoted to the rank of chief engineer. Later he gained comprehensive knowledge on the operation of two robots in California. His most significant professional achievement was the planning of the world’s first robotic computer card building instrument based on CIM (Computer Integrated Mechanism), which was patented under András’s name (U.S. patent no. 4,922,434). He represented his company In Japan, Australia and India. Following CDC’s cease of operations in 1989, András lectured in different colleges before he retired.

András loved his home, travelled all over the world with his wife. He loved operas, concerts and classical music and hundreds of his cd’s, dvd’s, music records and books are reminders of my loving, talented and caring husband.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 2 from 5-8 p.m. at York Cemetery & Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, North York. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 3, at 3 p.m., at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 432 Sheppard Ave E, North York. Followed by reception.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish.

Gyermekkori álma volt, hogy villamos mérnök lehessen. A jó Isten ezt megadta Neki. Nem volt könnyű mivel édesapja elveszett a Don kanyarnál mielőtt láthatta volna második fiát. De Édesanyja, Dr. Takács Mária, életcéljának tartotta, hogy mint két gyermeke Karcsi és András vágya teljesüljön. Mind ketten mérnökök lettek.

András a budapesti műszaki egyetem Villamos karán végzett 1966-ban, majd az Eötvös Loránd Tudományos Intézmény digitális laboratóriumában dolgozott.

Kétszer próbált disszidálni. Először fegyveres Yugoszláv katonák fogták el és vissza küldték Magyarországra. Végül 1968-ban mint turista maradt kint Olaszországban, de megfelelő munka nélkül visszament Bécsbe, ahol mérnöki munkát kapott, de mégis Kanadába vágyott. Itt a Control Datánál lett főmérnök, több kitüntetésben részesült és egy eredeti tervezése után Amerikai szabadalmat kapott (U.S. No. 4,922.434) amire élete végéig nagyon büszke volt.

András szerette a hivatását, szakmáját. Kiküldetésben volt Japánban, Indiában, Ausztráliában, mi együtt pedig főleg Európát, Észak és Dél Amerikát és Egyiptomot kedveltük. András nagyon szerette az operákat és a klasszikus zenét, az irodalmat és főleg a magyar költészetet. Több ezer opera felvétele és könyve emlékeztet, drága, szerető Andrásomra és vágyom az Ő ölelésére, hangjára, és Vele való találkozásunkra.

Addig pedig kérem a szerető, jó Istent , hogy ne engedje el András kezét. Ámen.
