In memory of

Anastasia Koliakos

Anastasia Koliakos
December 28, 1938 - July 7th, 2025.

It is with the heaviest of broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mother, Anastasia Koliakos on July 7th, 2025, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Sparta, Greece, where she met her late husband, Konstantinos Koliakos, of 65 years. Together, they moved to Montreal where they eloped and had their 3 beautiful daughters, Angela, Patricia, and Rea. When they moved to Toronto, they successfully owned and operated a dry cleaners in the west end of the city, on Manning Avenue.

She absolutely loved to cook, bake, watch wrestling and most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren who meant the world to her.

Anastasia was a proud Mother of 3 girls, 6 grandchildren and was one of 4 siblings. She loved her grandchildren deeply and with her whole heart; they were truly everything to her. Although she loved her grandkids equally, she had a special place in her heart for her only grand-daughter, Alexandra, or as she called her “my princess”, "my koukla-mou", "my agapé".

There is so much to say about our mother as she was so loved by everyone she knew and left a profound impact on everyone. She was one of a kind, and we were so lucky to know her, to love her and to be loved by her.

Anastasia is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Angela Koliakos-Stanton (Gary Stanton), Patricia Thornback (Dan Thornback), Rea Mcdonald (Royce McDonald). Her Grandchildren, Dean Thornback, Alexandra Sullivan (Brian Sullivan), Daniel Thornback, Nicholas McDonald, Christopher McDonald and Matthew McDonald.

Her legacy, love and memories will live on through all of us, and we will always remember her as the strongest, kindest, most caring woman whom we were lucky enough to have a space in her heart.

We love you endlessly, Yiayia. Our worlds will be forever changed without you here with us, and we will miss you until the end of time.

To our Angel, we hope you are resting in the sweetest heaven and are reunited with Papou.

S'agapó Yiayia, forever and always.
